      @mitu
Thank you, just realized I'd probably need an adapter and a good keyboard for this.

@mitu Heh, well. At least it works, right?

It's basically the same thing, but a different OS and some dependency installs.

So essentially to get this to work I would have to compile a version of the kernal with the PanFrost files included.

I'm thinking that this would be easier, considering my linux-fu is scraping by level, to go with an actual pi or something like an orange pi.

At least it works for my original purpose for a 3D printer were everything is done via ssh or web interface.

      Anyway, cheers for the help.

@fmentiplay Because it hasn't been updated yet. But you can update once the image is written easily enough.

@benret Raspbian Jessie is no longer supported - I think you get a nice message about that when you try to run the RetroPie-Setup script.

Installation on Buster hasn't been 100% vetted, but most bits should work - support for it will probably be part of the RetroPie release that supports the Pi4.

For now, using Raspbian Stretch will give you the best supported Raspbian version for RetroPie.

RetroPie though uses Raspbian Lite underneath, with very little changes added to the system. As far as wireless/networking goes, there's literally no change from a stock Raspbian Lite installation.

      Ok thank you for that.
I just wasn't sure if the same bug was in stretch and that the documentation had not been updated, as the documentation also stated that bug before retropie moved to stretch in april.
      Thanks

@vance Even trying those URLs in a browser returns errors. Did you run sudo apt-get update first? Maybe the mirrors have been changed for China.
If that doesn't work you can try commenting out the Chinese mirrors and adding alternatives from this list https://www.raspbian.org/RaspbianMirrors to /etc/apt/sources.list
I'm not sure how that will work in China though so...

The RetroPie image is based on Raspbian Lite (Stretch or Jessie, depending on which image you choose), so you would be better to install the Stretch beta image provided and then update the binaries. Right now when I booted up the Pi it "mounted" the ROMs perfectly. So it seems to happen spontaneously - weird.

@ezra84 I've just had to register and say thanks to your beautiful solution. I don't even know why I had to search so much. This is just works, and it is what I wanted. I have also added Parsec in this way!
I know it is a quite old topic, but this needs more attention!
      And THANK YOU!
